Luta

An association with sports DNA and great coffee

The name Luta comes from the Croatian word “lutati“, meaning “to wander“. According to their owners, it reflects the “fundamental human state of curiosity”. Luta is a project of three sports enthusiasts, passionate travellers, initially conceived as a gathering place revolving around the culture of cycling and running, where its owners finally united their passions for sports, community, design and premium coffee. It is located on the corner of a building – a perfect place for a neighbourhood cafe, near the vibrant Martićeva Street, in a part of the city that has become a real “gastronomy zone”.

Its casual concept is built around specialty coffee and good snacks, but also events such as workshops on cycling or running, or watching the Tour de France and other sports events from the endurance category. Minimalistic design of the interior in bright colours is also the result of the work of the main trio, and in addition to drinks and food, there you can also buy some pieces of sports equipment such as bicycle seats and clothes, coffee-making equipment, as well as water bottles, mugs or badges.

They offer coffees from roasters Friedhats from the Netherlands, La Cabra from Denmark, and Kava Family from Split, including excellent fruity Ethiopia with nice acidity, and wonderful El Salvador, with a positively extraordinary, hard-to-describe funky character and grain aromas, which goes perfectly with milk. In addition to espresso, Orea filter coffee is also available, as well as oat milk for those who like plant-based milk alternatives.

In addition to coffee, the menu also includes a selection of Croatian and foreign beers, several quality teas and infusions, an interesting alternative program of colas and other fizzy drinks, and natural fruit juices. As for snacks, there are two cakes on offer, one dry, crunchy 'Pretzl cookie', and an excellent pear tart.
