Owner Ivan Leko and his team are known for their creativity and commitment to quality, so their cocktails often spark conversation far beyond the bar itself. From milk-washing and clarification to infusions, to the use of foam to enhance flavour – with top-quality ingredients and meticulous techniques, every drink here is a guarantee for all Epicures out there. Now-iconic house specials such as Štrukaniji pelin or Mexcal, a blend of mezcal, sage, ginger and lime, rank Express Bar among the most innovative Croatian bars.
The bar also hosts occasional workshops in collaboration with artisan chocolatiers that further reflect the philosophy of this bar. One standout example is its acclaimed hot chocolate, often hailed as the best in the city. Made with premium chocolate and Istrian hazelnuts, its rich, creamy texture comes in white, dark, or spicy variations.
The offer does not end there – in addition to a selection of fine whiskeys, gin and rum, Express Bar also stands out for its incredible homemade iced teas. The opening hours are designed to suit the rhythm of the city: the bar is open from early morning until 11 pm on weekdays, from 9 am to 11 pm on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays.
