The food and drink offer at the Esplanade Bar lives up to its reputation. The menu includes classics such as Esplanade’s štrukli, the ever-popular club sandwich or burger with homemade fries, as well as more modern snacks such as tuna tataki, fresh salads and desserts prepared according to the season. Another standout is the “Orient Express” afternoon tea, which is served with fine sandwiches and cookies, making it ideal for a break after a stroll through the city.
However, the main star of the bar are the cocktails signed by Vjenceslav Madić Kishoni, a doyen of the modern Croatian cocktail scene, known for his creativity and for placing equal emphasis on alcoholic cocktails, as well as low-alcohol and alcohol-free. His cocktails draw inspiration from different decades – from the opulent ones like the Esplanade Royal with Dom Pérignon to modern twists with mezcal, gin or Acala sparkling fermented teas.
For those seeking sophistication but without alcohol, there are options such as the non-alcoholic gin and tonic or the Ramos Esplanade Fizz with a MeMento base. In addition to cocktails, the bar offers a rich selection of aged single malt whiskeys, premium tequilas, champagnes, craft beers, as well as coffees and teas. The Esplanade Bar is open every day from early morning until two a.m., making it the perfect place for an all-day experience – from morning coffee, to a light lunch or afternoon tea, to late-night socializing with music and cocktails.
